Overlooking the Comminges, at the feet of the majestic Pyrenees mountain range, the Sanctuaire La Garie is a heaven of peace for repose and a spiritual retreat for inspiration.

Here, in the midst of a rich and preserved natural environment, farm animals who escaped human unconcern meet with humans who confront modern realities.

The encounter raises awareness. It encourages respect for the liberty and individuality of animals and humans. lt sensitizes in favor of the protection of nature and of the right to life for all beings.

A stay at the sanctuary is a landmark moment, conducive to ressourcement, creativity and sharing.

This encounter creates awareness, fostering respect for the freedom and individuality of both animals and humans. It inspires dignity.

The sanctuary...

The Sanctuaire La Garie welcomes farm animals rescued from abuse, neglect, and human ignorance.

Spanning 55 hectares of meadows and forests, the sanctuary provides care and compassionate listening to rescued animals. They are no longer considered 'property', but regain their status as sentient beings in their own right.

We don't ask anything from them in return. Every interaction with humans is entirely at their discretion.

The welcome center...

The sanctuary welcomes you an immersion in the animal cause.

Located 75 km southwest of Toulouse (F), in a natural area in the Comminges countryside, the sanctuary offers a lodge for rent - modern accomodations rebuilt from an 18th century farmhouse.

With a surface area of 450 m², the lodge can accommodate up to eighteen people for residential seminars, artist residencies, spiritual meetings or therapeutic stays.

All profits go to the sanctuary's animals. Naturally, meals at La Garie are 'at minima' vegetarian.
